Auxiliary relays are implemented by software, they cannot receive external input signals, nor can they directly drive external loads, and are an internal status marker, equivalent to the intermediate relay in the relay control system.

Auxiliary relay classification

1. General auxiliary relay
FX series PLC general purpose auxiliary relay has no power failure protection function. In the FX series PLC, except for the input and output relays, the component numbers of other programming components are in decimal.
If the power supply is suddenly interrupted while the PLC is running, the output relay and the general auxiliary relay will all be turned OFF. If the power supply is switched ON again, the rest will remain OFF except for those turned on by external input signals.

2. Battery backup/latch auxiliary relay
Battery backup/latch-assist relays can be used in some control systems that require memory of the instantaneous state of power interruption and reproduction of the state after re-powering. Use a lithium battery to preserve the contents of the image registers in RAM or save them in EEPROM during power outages. They only remain in the transient state of power failure for the first scan cycle after the PLC is re-energized. In order to take advantage of their power off memory function, a circuit with memory function can be used.

3. Special auxiliary relay
Special auxiliary relays have a total of 256 points, they are used to represent certain states of the PLC, provide clock pulses and signs (such as carry, borrow signs), set the operation mode of the PLC, or for step control, prohibit interruption, set the counter to add or subtract count.
